"Creating beautiful typography for forgotten languages"
Throughout time many languages have become extinct and almost forgotten. My response to an ISTD brief (an internationally recognised competition for typography design) on connections was to glorify a selection of extinct languages by representing them in a purely typographic manner.
I created a unique set of typographic cards that represent various diseased languages from the past. Each perished language is represented in a unique style that is inspired by a historical fact linked to the language.
With this design I was placed in the top 3 of the designs entered, out of 250. The concept was also featured in Computer Arts Magazine who ran a feature on this entry.
